This hat is handmade felt. The silk material is fused with raw merino wool in a process of wet felting called nuno felting. Once the fabric/felt hood is created, it is stiffened and blocked over an wooden crown and brim block. The brim is wired and covered with a grosgrain band and is trimmed with a simple grosgrain headband and bow.
